My Christmas Post

So... are you ready for a nice picture-intensive post about my Christmas day? No? Tough :P

I started off the day with some delicious Sausage and Cheese muffins...

Then I put my prepared-on-Christmas-eve turkey in the oven and spent a few hours staring wistfully at my pile of presents.

Actually, I watched The Santa Clause and did some crochet, but I just wanted to show off how many presents I had :P

My turkey was a magnificent success!

The kitties enjoyed it too.

Lexie wasn't too happy with the hat from her cracker though. Hehehe

Then it was time for presents! And my god, I was spoiled. Aside from books and chocolate and teddy bears...

... and jewellery and socks and monkeys and candles and soaps and bubble bath... I got 34 balls of yarn! 34!!!

They varied from small balls of toy yarn, to huge expensive hanks of yarn that were specifically dyed for me. Look at them!

And I got this amazing little angel ornament that someone made for me.

And oh oh oh! One of the partners I got in a swap makes a living from handmaking colourful accessories and things. She made me this cute little Slytherin bag...

Check out the label she put in it.

Even the cats got presents. Quite a few actually. Here's one of their favourites.

And finally, just before the Doctor Who Christmas special, it was time for dessert. When we were little girls, Dad used to make Jennie and I a baked alaska for Christmas dessert, but once Tracy and the boys came along, it just wasn't possible. So this year I made my own.

That's chocolate cake, with mint choc chip ice cream on top, covered in meringue and stuck under the grill to brown. It was delicious, but took a bit of a strange effort to make.

Lol.

I hope you all had a lovely day :-)

Project 200 - 56/144

Here's another one. Despite the lack of blogs, I have been working on Project 200, I've just been doing some of the bigger pieces. Having said that, the Hogwarts roleplay thing I do on Ravelry is back, so there'll be a few more things linked to that, hopefully.

Double Knitting

These pieces aren't part of Project 200, but they're a new knitting technique I've learnt. It's called Double Knitting, and you end up with the reverse looking the same as the front but in mirrored colours. Very cool.

My kit for Hogwarts

A vintage, and therefore very used and dented, silver cauldron. A crazy little kitty. A magic broomstick that gets bigger when I use the right charm, easy for carrying. And my wand - 9" purple willow with a dragon heartstring core.

My HSKS package arrived!

So, this morning a very very exhausted owl struggled through my window carrying a box at least three times it's size and more like ten times it's weight.

The delivery charge alone was extortionate!! And in it? Well, there was all this...

Two huge packs of Twizzlers, which aren't available on my side of the pond.

Three delicious soft skeins of an unidentified yarn.

A cool purple folder with three different patterns in it.

Two very large tubs of delicious Swedish fish.

Six skeins of yummy Orchid Red Heart Super Saver.

About a bajillion patches and pins for my collection.

Four balls of variagated Peaches and Cream.

A handy knitting case.

The wacky needles inside the handy knitting case.

Three yummy fat quarters.

Some very psychadelic desk stuff.

A handy bag made of cool US fabric.

Four balls of pretty blue Peaches and Cream.

A delicious range of fabrics.

Detail of the first of three yummy American-themed fabrics.

Detail of the second American-themed fabric.

Detail of the third American-themed fabric.

This package was amazing, and after a really bad couple of weeks, actually made me cry. In a good way. Mostly. I feel a little bit guilty, because the package I'm sending back to Dragonsinger isn't half this good. But there you go. Thank you Rowan, this was amazing!!
